Out Like a Lamb?

Hello Network!

What is the old saying? March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb? I wonder how that will apply to our Network's workgroup meetings. We started off the month of March with a Clinical Supervision Workgroup meeting in Kansas City and we're rounding out the month with a Leadership Development workgroup meeting ... hmmm ... guess we'll have to see!

Yes, the Leadership Development workgroup is meeting this week in KC. The first day of the meeting was today and it will conclude tomorrow. Joining the workgroup meeting are Shannon Tait (Partners for Recovery-CSAT), Melanie Whitter (Abt) and Lorraine Bell (Abt). I know they have a full agenda!

Also going on this week - the National Office will be offering a second "booster" training on data entry for the events/activities database. Please call in to the regular National Office conference call number Thursday, April 2 at 11 am CDT.

Happy April Fool's Day! I hope you aren't the object of any practical jokes!

Take care - Laurie

Curious about RSS?

Hello Network -

We're almost 1/2 way through this very busy week! Wednesday is hump day!

I wanted to let you know about a very informative article I ran across today. As you are aware, Web 2.0 technologies are becoming a more and more prominent aspect of our lives. Just a few weeks ago, the National Office invited a group of tech savvy ATTC-ers to KC to discuss how to more fully integrate these tools into the Network Web site. One result of this meeting is that we now have an RSS feed on our homepage. Subscribers to our feed automatically receive updates about new items added to the "news" sections of our homepage.

SO ... since RSS is on our mind, I thought the article, "Using RSS Tools to Feed Your Information Needs" from Idealware.org was particularly timely.

Check it out and let us know which feeds you subscribe to by adding a comment to this blog.

Until next time ... Laurie

In addition to these calls, Erin Fridley and Eric Barr will begin touching base with each Regional Center's point of contact for all things related to the Website. We want to make sure everyone knows about all of the great improvements we've made to the functionality of the site, and we want to hear your ideas about how to continue to enhance the site in the future.

The National Office is also looking forward to having many ATTC-ers in town next week for the Leadership Development workgroup meeting. We love getting a chance to see you in person!

That's all for now ... more soon! Keep up the excellent work!
